Deg-Bhapka Distillation

Long before modern distillation equipment, attar was captured using deg-bhapka — a copper still connected by a pipe to a cooling vessel, condensing directly into a base of pure sandalwood oil. There are no digital controls in this process.

A master distiller reads it by touch, by smell, and by the sound of the water — knowledge passed down through a family, not written in a manual. It is this same unhurried method, unchanged for generations, that shapes every Yaktara attar.
